Julijan Plenca
Hello, my name is Julijan Plenca.
I am originally from Croatia, but currently live in Hamburg.
In 2016, I achieved the title of International Master in Chess and was appointed a FIDE Trainer in 2020. Throughout my chess career, I have had the pleasure of helping numerous players, both young and old, improve their chess skills. I pride myself on being able to adapt to different playing styles, especially with young players who are eager to expand their skills.
For me, chess is not only a competition, but also a source of joy and entertainment.
My experience
Over 25 years of experience as a chess player, including competitions at semi-professional level in top leagues such as the 1st Croatian League and the German Bundesliga.
Won numerous titles, including four times Croatian Youth Champion, and achieved my first Grandmaster norm in 2021.
Extensive coaching experience of over 10 years, including mentoring youth champions and leading teams to national titles, including victories in the Croatian U20 Team Championship.
Successful in online chess, with tournament victories such as the Bundesliga on Lichess and games against world-class players such as Magnus Carlsen.
My qualifications
Obtained the title of International Chess Master in 2016 and recognized as a FIDE trainer in 2020.
Highest Elo rating of 2451, which demonstrates strategic and tactical excellence at a high level.
Master's degree in Entrepreneurship, complemented by professional expertise in IT, programming and digital marketing.
Specialized in modern chess teaching methods, individually tailored to different playing styles, with a focus on developing skills and the joy of the game.
